Tapping Into Your Creativity essays For the Tapping into Your Creativity assignment I chose to go to the Minnesota Science Museum in St. Paul. At the museum I saw the Omni Theatre presentation of Dolphins. The Omnitheatre presentation of Dolphins was probably one of the most incredible movies I have ever seen. It was not only incredible due to the content of the movie. It was also incredible because of the way that it was presented. When I first went into the theatre I commented to the woman sitting next to me that we probably were not in the greatest seats due to the fact the screen was way above us. I thought I would be craning my neck the whole show. Then it happened. The screen actually began to move. It was rotating down like the face guard of an astronauts helmet and encircling us. The whole process took five minutes only lending to the feel that you were experiencing something out of science fiction even more. The story of the screen is an experience in it self and led me to find out more about these theatres: The movie Dolphins I saw is produced and exhibited on the world's most advanced film format. Brother reminisces of a summer that has long since passed, as he sits in the house he was raised in: â€Å"It was in the clove of seasons, summer was dead, but autumn had not yet been born, that the ibis lit in the bleeding tree. The flower garden was strained with rotting brown magnolia petals andiron weeds grew rank amid the purple phlox. The last graveyard flowers were blooming, and their smell drifted across the cotton field and through every room of our house, speaking softly the names of our dead. † With this, the author uses the natural scenery of a dying garden in the transition of seasons to set a tone of sadness. He illustrates a garden with rotting flowers, a graveyard’s last flowers blossoming and their smell being carried to where Brother is, reminding him of the dead. Hurst uses the natural elements in the setting to paint a gloomy and dismal setting, he could have expressed what he saw and smelled from his garden in many ways, yet he chose to depict this garden dying. Furthermore, this was done to indicate the tone in this memory, which is one of sadness. Moreover, just as the author uses dying settings to reflect a sorrowful and dreary tone, he also uses beautiful settings to reflect a joyous and hopeful tone. Brother describes his and Doodle’s time shared in Old Women Swamp, a place he refers to as the only beauty he knows: â€Å"I would gather wildflowers, wild violets, honeysuckle, yellow jasmine, snakeflowers, and waterlilies, and with wire grass we’d weave them into necklaces and crowns. We’d bedeck ourselves with our handiwork and loll about thus beautified, beyond the touch of the everyday world. † Furthermore, Old Women Swamp is a place found beautiful to both Doodle and Brother, a place where they go to play and relax. Almost all of the joyous and hopeful times that Doodle and Brother share happen in Old Women Swamp: the first time Doodle stood where they go to lay and tell stories, and where they imagine they will build a house and live in together. The author once again uses the setting to reflect the tone; Hurst uses the abundance of beauty found within Old Women Swamp to show the hope and joy Doddle and Brother sometimes shared. Furthermore, as Brother remembers these times he does so in a joyous and hopeful tone. To them Old women swamp signified beauty and a world of never-ending possibilities. Moreover, all the scenes that take place in Old Women swamp are of happiness and hope, its portrayed as this beautiful place because that’s the way Brother remembers it and that might be because of all the happy moments he shared there with Doodle. Brother remembers all of theses events with a hopeful and joyous tone and all take place in serene, beautiful, and beloved Old Women Swamp. In conclusion, the natural elements of the setting indicate the change in the tone from a sorrowful tone to a joyous tone.

As I sat there leaning against it, I pondered how I could get a refreshing can of pop.   I got up and looked around to find a coin or a bill that someone might have left or lost.   After five or six hours I gave up, no one had dropped anything that I could find.   By this time it was now nightfall, so I slept leaning against this oasis.   While asleep, I had a wonderful dream of this pop machine.   I dreamed that it opened up and asked me to indulge in a cold refreshing drink.   Another dream I had was where every five minutes the machine gave me a can from now until eternity.      Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   When I awoke I jumped up and turned around to see if any of the dreams were true.   I quickly saw that they were not.   I decided that I could not leave this place until I had enjoyed a can of pop.   By the 3rd day, I had to scout for food and water because I was feeling malnourished.   As I walked around I found a snack machine the kind with many divine foods inside such as candy bar and chips, but still no way to eat them.   I stayed here until morning trying to rig a transport of some sort for it.   I cut a tree down and made 4 wheels and eventually a cart to support the machine and than to transport the machine to the other.   This was such a great task, I forgot about my hunger.   By dusk I had arrived back at the pop machine.   As I set the candy machine next to the pop machine, my hunger came back even stronger than before  Ã‚   Once again, I knew I could not break into the machine to eat, again my strong moral values.   So I went out again in search of food and water.      Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   As my walk progressed I found a stream and I took a drink and ate many fish, then thought that I should of cooked them first.   On my way back, I got lost and had to sleep under a foreign tree and try to find my way home at day break.   As I tried to find my way home, I found another machine.

Violence in football We all know that violence comes into sports. Aggression and sport have gone together as long as sports have been around. Violence is a part of sports, no matter how much the professional associations deny the fact. Professional football is commonly known as favorite pastime of many people. Each week millions of TV viewers watch their teams score touchdowns, kick field goals, and win games.The fans of professional sports are expecting more from the players, and when they feel that the performance from their team is inadequate, they get violent. Most people know of the incidents that occur from European and South American football games. The fans of these games have fights regularly over arguments that are provoked from one team winning and one team losing. Football players aren't any better but are a little different when it comes to why they are paid so much.They have a lot more at stake when they go out on to the field. They have to consider the possibility of g etting injured at any time because of the violent nature of the sport. They are paid to be big, mean, fast, and ruthless out on the field against men just as big and ruthless as themselves. As football has grown wider, it has also increased the violence in the game. In the last few years, professional football experienced an increase in player injuries due to game related violence.Unfortunately, there are also incidents of injuries, most of which are sustained in a normal course of the game; but there are also those which occur due to unnecessary, and at times, intentional violence. In my opinion there is too much aggression and too much focus on that aggression concerning sport. Sport should be regulated more strictly to those who break the rules. The National Football League has yet to address or attempt to remedy the situation.

This could be due to the unfortunate fact that Jews throughout history tend to face a large amount of discrimination and persecution or because of their relation to the two largest religions in the world, Christianity and Islam.
